Asparagus will yield on average 1/2 pound per plant and comes on average 10 per order, Raspberries on the other hand, comes about 3 to 5 per order and I think others on this forum would be better able to answerer the yield, but I would consider something commercial.

Yield isn't the worry, well, something to worry about once they are planted out.

I saw some local big box stores have 2-packs of raspberry plants for about $10. Not sure about the variety or if its a reasonable price.

Be careful of the cartons of raspberries you see at the big box stores. When I first got into raspberries, I wasted my first 1/2 season on the Latham's that Home Depot was selling in the carton. I followed the directions, etc, but when all was said and done, only 1 out 12 actually lived. Luckily I still had the cartons, so I took pics, threw all the rotted sticks back in their cartons, brought them back and got my money back. But, the pics on the carton sure look nice, eh?

Compare that with a quality supplier like www.NourseFarms.com, and out of the 50 that I've ordered, IÂve only had 1 that didn't make it. At approx $3 a piece at Nourse, it's a cheaper route as well.

We did the same as Glenn on the Lathams (only it was at Wal-Mart), they didn't turn out well either. We've ordered from Nourse as well and they have good stock as Glenn says. If you are going to order 100 berries check out Hartmanns Plant Company they have good stock, and prices. Plus they have good customer service. P.S. get everbearers.
