Anyone tried Bluebyrd? Where should I order a damson or damson-type plum?

RE: Best damson type plum??

I don't know of "Damson type plums". Damson is unique among any plums I've grown or am aware of.

Bluebyrd is not a Damson type, as far as I know. I haven't tasted it but folks at ACN have sold me on it to where I have one in my orchard that might have fruit this year.
I believe it is a delicious prune plum.

Generally Damson's are wonderful as a culinary plum only. They are pretty good off the tree when dead ripe but not nearly as good as many others you could grow.
