The catalog states 'practically blight free' so I'd give it a try. I've never tried/grown that one, but why not? Starks has good products from what I've heard. Noogy

I grow it but don't much like it as grown here in southeastern NY. However, it is extremely easy to grow, quick to bare pear of the Bartlett type- a couple weeks earlier and a tad blander. They used to also sell Dutchess which is also pretty blight resistant, I believe, and a much better quality pear- truly top notch and late ripening. Takes longer to establish, though- probably 6 years before you see meaningful fruit.

I have a couple that were planted 40 years ago. I don't know the rootstock, but they are not vigorous trees. I have not seen fireblight on them. Bartletts planted at the same time are much more productive, later as Hman says, and produce a better-keeping fruit.
