Bare Root-or-Potted?

Which do you think is better? Ordering a bare root fruit tree from a reputable Nursery via mail. Or buying a potted tree from a local store? Actually, which takes off better? Bare root, or pot grown? Thanks.....

I think that either would be fine. But for planting now, I would choose the bareroot.

If you talk to your local store, they will say potted. That's how they make money!

I would choose bareroot also.

definitely bare root is better for the tree and the planet. potted trees have disfigured root systems and are almost never grown locally, they also require lots of water to grow as well as plastic
