planting pear trees

Has any one planted pear trees for a hedge thay wer not on a duraf root stock an how close would you plant i have read 3 ft i have planted a lot of apple but thay are b9 an m26 root stockiam going to bud a lot of pear quince A an pyro duraf this year but i have a lot on stander size tree i was going to plant down a property line for a hedge more less the variety are barlett, keiffer, pineapple, moonglow,hood,warren, maxine, ayers,seckel,blakes pride, potomac,(housi shinko ]

Walter I have a pear hedge with 3' spacing. Pears are very upright in growth compared to apples so I think I will be OK with full-size rootstocks. After four years its been as easy as the dwarfing apple hedges to maintain.
