Are there any draw backs to planting cherry trees early, like right after the frost goes out?

No problem. Get it in the ground as soon as the the soil has thawed. Just keep the graft union a couple inches above the soil line.

Well I didnt receive them yet, but have shipping time of first week of april, right after our frost goes out here(we just got a 18 inches snow). I ordered a Lapins and a Kristen on mazz.rootstock and a Emp. Francies and White Gold on Gisela 5. I hope they do well, we havent had temps below -20F in many years.
