apple tree bark

I was spraying my apple trees today when I noticed that one of my trees had bark lost from the deer. It is 8 inches long and goes 3/4 of the way around the trunk. Is this tree going to die. Also another of my trees had powdery mildew. I trimmed the affected area. I also sprayed the tree with fungicide. Anything else i should do? Ant
