Anybody ever used Grandpas nurseries. I need one or two apple trees and they seem to have a good choice.

If you mean Grandpa's Orchard, I have, they're very nice and sent me a lovely pear tree that was very well boxed. I had some questions about delivery, since we here in S. Calif. can plant our bareroot trees quite early (January), and if I could get my tree on the early side. They were very accommodating. They have an excellent rating over on Garden Watchdog.

I bought a few trees from Grandpa's Orchard two years ago. Unfortunately, the trees were misplaced and ended up being shipped late. They came with a free Honeycrisp to make up for the later shipping. The apricots that I ordered were huge, very thick trunks. The peach tree died later that year but I'm not sure why. So while their stock is very good, they do have some logistical issues but hopefully they've fixed that now.

I got an apple and some plums from them. I also got some cherries and a plum for a friend in the order. They were good trees. Someone got a bit overzealous with a packing knife and cut one of the plums.

I'm not thrilled on their guarantee because it's short. That would make me inclined to not accept anything but a completely healthy tree, no waiting to see.

I ordered a few apple trees in the last few years. Good quality nice trees. I was going to order a zester a couple of weeks ago and was shocked that the shipping was more than the tree, $24-$25 I think. I didnt order it. I am going to try a couple of apricots instead form elsewhere.
