I grow it but i'm in 9A so not going to be much help.

Zone 7a should not be too severe for all except the most tender pomegranate varieties. Not to say that freezing to the ground in some years would be out of the question. I might be more concerned about the long ripening requirement of many pomegranates that may be hampered by partial or full shade which is so common in your part of the world.

As far as fruit quality, you can probably expect the best, since Afghanistan is the heart of pomegranate culture and they supposedly have the best tasting varieties in the world.

I'm not growing it. The seed to pulp ratio is high (seedy) which doesn't sound super good for either fresh or juice. It is from a colder region and did survive -6F winters in Georgia so it should be hardy enough.
