we bought a Weeping Santa Rosa plum tree & it has very good fruit, however.... hubby pruned the tops of the big branches back & it doesn't 'weep' any more! Though the fruit is till good we miss the weeping nature of the branches & wonder if the pruning permanently did something ... am sure the big branches high up on the trunk were not grafted there where he pruned them!?

It should weep again after it grows back. It is a tree that might need unique pruning. I had one 10 years back and remember it weeping nicely but don't really remember how or when I pruned it.

Mine isn't weeping either. I prune my plums way back every year. I'm sure it will start weeping again as it grows back. Scott
