All leaves are from last year. This one still

Finally put all my plants on watering system!

That's a lot of BB plants! I wouldn't even know what to do with all of those. I have six plants and it's enough for my wife and I for fresh eating.

Well, blueberry season is all but over for me now. It was a nice run from April until end of June.

Here's one of the last 'Sunshine Blue' clusters. The plant never lost its leaves and many of the old leaves are now pretty crispy. Keeping old and new foliage doesn't seem to hinder production at all. I didn't remove any of those old leaves for the sake of a more attractive picture. As always, what I got is what you see:

This was my first year getting a nice blueberry crop, and Sunshine Blue was the best :) Very yummy, too!

That was a young plant, too, so I like that variety a lot. My others are all rabbiteyes, so I think I'll get more hybrids like SB. I thought the rabbiteyes would be easier to grow, but it's been the reverse.

(My rabbiteyes might be in too much heat and sun, though. My SB gets more shade -- a lot of morning sun. The rabbiteyes are in the harsh afternoon sun and heat, and they are harder to keep moist.)

This was the first year that my Sunshine Blue set a sizable crop, and I agree...the flavor is superb.

I planted 2 of them last year. Are they self-fertile?

They do well with just one, yeah! Not as well as they could, I take it, but I was pleasantly surprised.

What other cultivar would be a good pollinator? Hopefully hardy for zone 5 too.

Bountiful Blue is a close cousin.Maybe check that one out.Brady

I don't think it matters which varieties you get for good cross pollination. But you do want to extend the harvest a bit by getting earlier varieties such as 'Misty', 'ONeal', and mid-season varieties such as 'Emerald'. You will need to do the homework on which varieties do well in your zone.
