thinning 'Summercrisp' Pear

What is the protocol for thinning 'Summercrip' pears?

'Summercrisp' is a small sugar or seckel type pear, maybe three or four inches long. I have a heavy set this year. Naturally I will pull off the corroded type fruitlets, but what is the ultimate goal?

Do I thin to a couple ofinches apart? six inches apart? What?

The pictures in the catalog make it look like they are unthinned.

Six inches if it's a light enough load- no closer, and further is good.

Congratulations on your fine crop!
