did they bloom at the same time? I would prefer Burgundy plum as a pollenizer for Flavor Supreme as it has nice bloom overlap in our area. You can graft a few sticks of Burgundy plum. At late in this season, if you have a nearby friend with Burgundy plum, you can do bark graft with active scionwood. Another alternative is buy the potted Burgundy plum tree and plant it anytime so that you will have blooms for next year and fruit sets hopefully.

It is normal for fruits to all drop during the first year, but this is the third year, so something might be wrong. It could be the bloom time overlap, lack of insect pollinators, or incompatibilities. But so far, Burgundy plum is a superb pollenizer for most other plums and pluots.

The answer is no. What you see is probably happening do to a lack of pollenation. If the trees are blooming at the same time, it could be do to a lack of bees or other pollinating insect. I have found bees prefer the flowers of other fruit trees to plums and pluots. You might go to Dave Wilson's website to see what is a good pollinizing variety for that tree or send them an email to see if your pollinizing variety is a good one.

There was about a week or so of bloom time overlap and I did notice that the blooms of Flavor Supreme do not last long, maybe slightly over a week.
The weather was good when these trees bloomed. I did not see any bees though but I did try to hand pollinate them myself.
