Red Spur and Golden Spur Apple Tree. Looking at these on the web they are from Holland and have just one main stem and fruit on the spurs, are non spreading. But my friend has just purchased these two varieties and they have more than one stem, does anyone know if these should be took off or is this normal, thanks

RE: Frui Trees

My neighbor has Columnar apple trees and they do seem to sprout some other limbs and they should be cut off if you want them to stay as a columnar tree. I saw some at Home Depot last year and they did seem to sprout some longer limbs. But they were still basically a Columnar tree.
