Is it too late?

I made a terrible mistake. I thought I was mixing my copper with my dormant oil, for my first and only 'dormant' oil spray. It is now April 7th (I used copper and a sticker only instead of the oil) egad. Can I still spray my dormant oil today? Buds are swelling but tight, except for two peach trees that are showing miniscule hints of green. Oh ugh, Mrs. G

My guess is you will be fine w/ a 2% oil mix. Buds that tight are pretty tough. At worse case I see you possibly burning the very ends of the bud tissue.

Freezing weather can complicate things, but this spring I sprayed oil and 4 days later it got down to 25F. So far I haven't seen damage.

I've sprayed 1% oil on fully leaved out trees w/ no burn whatever.
