Tops the tastings for 3 yrs?? It doesn't even show up in DWN tastings. I assume that's what they're talking about. I just looked thru those a week ago and it's not there, top or bottom.

Way over hyped IMO. 20 grams and 24 brix with average flavor. That's what I got in 2013. I've had Flavor Kings at 200 grams and 10 times the flavor.

If anyone can find this on a taste test report I'll stand corrected.

Which parent does it take after taste-wise? An extra large cherry would seem to have more appeal than an undersized plum.

I tastes like an undersized plum. And it's a very soft plum. Not something I could take to the farmers market unless picked green. I wasn't impressed with their peacotum either. They have much better fruits, IMO, but don't want to release them retail.

Interesting. I have one soft plum, 'Beauty', which I think is excellent. But I wouldn't need or want another one to be honest. A dead ripe Beauty tastes like sweet plum wine to me, so I could never part with it. Bring it in a little early, and when firmer, it's got some nice tartness.

As for the Pluerry, that June-July window is loaded with great fruit so it would have to be truly special to earn a spot.
