Self Rooting Pears

This year I stored various pear scions wrapped in wet paper towels in a large ziplock. Some I received from Nick Botner but others were from my own trees. I've noticed that they all seem to be wanting to form roots. Is this a common pear trait? Should I be storing my pear scions at a lower temp? (I've got them at 35F) Will these scions be more or less likely to make successful grafts?

I've noticed this too, but didn't pay it much mind- but it does suggest that they might be relatively easy to root.

I did play with that once but didn't stick with it long enough to find out if it's worth pursuing.
