| Hi, I will be aggressively pruning my mom's loquat soon, after the ripe fruit is removed. I am curious whether the tree fruits only on new growth. There is currently quite a bit of new growth, and I can leave some of it.
Will it put out more growth this summer and fall after the pruning, and will it also fruit on that? Thanks |

| Applenut, Thanks. My mom tells me she cut it back by about half a few years back, but she's not sure whether it fruited (she thinks it probably did). Now it's covered with hundreds of fruits. I actually grew it from a seed when I was 12 (30 years ago). |
