I got mine from UC Davis. They all rooted. Should not be a problem. Just make sure it's damp and well drained with a lot of sand or crushed granite on top to discourage fungus gnats.

Just two weeks ago, I took mine from the refridge and planted in pots with a 50/50 mix of perlite and potting mix. Within a week they both have started to leaf out. Since the leafs have started to show, I'll spray weekly (more or less) with a product similar to Bonide Wilt Stop or CloudCover. The intent is to limit evaporation from the leaf surface until the roots have a chance to establish themselves. For the time being, i am keeping them out of direct sunlight, and the planting medium moist, not saturated. Depending on your climate, a heat pad might aid in getting the roots going....P.S. this is my first stab at it, but so far so good.....
