Pruning a persimmon BYOC???

Has anyone tried to prune an American persimmon to a pedestrian height?

I prune all my fruit trees to a pedestrian height. Apple, pear, peach, plum, cherry, pawpaw.

I have a Morris Burton persimmon and it's now tall enough I need to make a decision to either prune it for pedestrian height like the rest of my trees, or allow it to grow to a normal shade tree height and pick most the fruit up off the ground as it drops (for personal consumption) as many people do w/ American persimmon.

My question is, will American persimmon fruit if kept to pedestrian height, since their normal growth habit is a tall shade tree? I'm thinking trying to keep it pedestrian height would be the equivalent of trying to keep a pecan at pedestrian height.

Nevertheless, I'd like to try if there is any reasonable hope it will fruit at pedestrian height. Any thoughts?
