I am brand new to gardening. This year I planted several plants and have recently noticed very, very small white insects in my cantaloupe and watermelon plants. They fly when disturbed and are about the size of a flea. Can anyone help me identify these pests and advise me as to whether they are detrimental to the plants, and if so, how to get rid of them? Any advice well be incredibly helpful, as right now I know very little about gardening. Thank you!
