its about 6 or seven, last year i got a whole crop of apples.
|
Is it possible it set too large a crop last year and it is behaving biennially now? What kind of apple tree is it? Some have a tendency towards biennial bearing.

in MI.. we got a killer frost that has decimated many a crop ... whats your weather been like .. since the time is was supposed to bud??? ken

Wait til next year. Feed the tree this year. If it blooms and sets fruit next year, thin severely to keep the tree from continuing a biennial habit. I suspect your "whole crop" of apples was too much for a young tree to bear, and now it's taking the year to recuperate.
