Has anyone tried growing either a red or gold azarole tree? I'm intrigued about the taste description on the One Green World website... "We found this unique fruit tree in Italy in 2001. An attractive addition to your landscape, Azarole is self-fertile and easy to grow. A small tree with white, fragrant flowers and glossy reddish-green foliage, the foliage accents the striking red or yellow fruit. Great for fresh eating and preserves, the blueberry-size fruit tastes somewhat like a sweet apple."

I have a plant, but hasn't fruited yet. Probably very telling that no one has replied.

My tree is very pretty but hasn't set fruit yet. My Italian friends didn't think the fruit was worthy of space in the garden and they were surprised anyone bothered to import them. The one person I know in this area that has one, loves the flavor of his.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm on the fence about ordering a couple of these to try. I may just flip a coin!
