| Hi.
I have a Jewel black raspberry plant that is about 2 years old now. Had same problem with canes that had last year. It has a red tinge on the leaves, produces no berries and has no thorns. I had the same problem in another area where I had some old wild black raspberries. I pulled this new area plant out and threw it far away...... but would like to identify the problem/disease. Thanks. Bob P.S. Another Jewel black raspberry only 3 feet from this bad one is fine. |

| It's Orange Rust. You can Google information about it. Unfortunately, it affects the plant systemically and there is no cure. If you want to grow raspberries, you may have to protect them with fungicide sprays. You'll need to remove the one already infected. |
