mulch for blueberries

I'm about to set out my first blueberry bushes on a sunny hillside that I cleared of multiflora roses. Can I use landscape fabric topped with year old wood chips to avoid weeding? I'm in the Hudson Valley (NY) and looking for low maintenance! Thanks.

Sure you can. Remember that the birds and others like to eat blueberries. I had to net to get a good crop. Best way which is what I did is build an enclosure so I can walk through without dealing with netting.
