You could try using some general fertilizer on them. It's not organic but I use Miracle-Gro Plant food on occasion to boost my plants. It's generally safe and won't burn your plants like the granulated version can.

The drainage thing can certainly be a problem for raspberries. Can you do anything to channel the water away faster? For example; pick a place to make a slight channel, dig up the grass a step at a time, take some dirt from underneath then set the sod back in place. Maybe put the excess dirt in the raspberry patch.

cckw -- I could very easily dig a ditch around the path (it's on a slight slope) to divert water coming down the slope away from it. Thanks for the idea.

It is not that unusual, some cultivars are slow to establish. Fall Gold was like that for me. It didn't really produce untill the third season. I have Double Gold, it's the 3rd season and I have yet to taste one. Although I should get 2-300 berries this year.

For plants that new and small, it would be better long-term for drainage just to jack them up using a large shovel, and pack some soil in beneath to raise them up.

I had the same problem. The raspberries didn't like my clayey, wet, cold soil and didn't produce for two years. I moved them into raised beds (2'x4' and 8" high) and now they're doing great!

fruitmaven -- did you just dig them up? I'm worried the roots are too spread out now.

If you are going to do a raised bed you have to do it with better soil. (read about soil elsewhere on this forum) You are rerouting run-off, if you think that run off was a big problem you can wait a year and see. But if you want to do it now, you still can if you are in the northern half of the US.

You dig big chunks and carefully break them apart by hand. Every piece of root goes to the new bed just in case it has enough juice to shoot up a new plant. I would try to shade the new bad in the hottest hours of the day for a while.
