| Apparently we hit with a brief low of 29 or 30 this AM after seeing predictions of 27- I've much relieved and pretty hopeful.
My pear is in full bloom but I don't think we've had much insect activity; the plum and apple are trying to bloom and should have at least quite a few blossoms that were unharmed. Now it's supposed to get steadily warmer for a while. I'm guardedly optimistic. Good luck all, M |

| Nice to hear that good luck of yours, 29 or 30 is not bad at all, even the blossoms that were already open or developing fruit should be OK. Last month we had a sustained freeze with a low of around 26, followed by a more brief low of 27 the next night while apricots were done blooming, peaches and plums in full bloom, apples and others starting... all now have nicely developing fruit. If the weather continues to be on our side we will have a good crop of all the fruiting trees, shrubs and vines this year! |
