new trees and a replacement tree

I have been lucky with my new trees this year. Sorry no pics. to include as they are all planted but. . .

1. Arboreum was spectatular: my new red 'Arborose' apple is leafing out and the root system was huge. Same for the 'Ananas Reinette' apple from them. Just excellent stock!

2. Cummins: Never ordered from them before. My trees arrived this past week and went in just yesterday. Two Calville Blanc d'Hiver apples. Large and sturdy trees with excellent and strong root systems. I've heard differing comments about Cummins here, but what they sent me was amazing. Beautiful trees.

3. Raintree: They sent me my replacement Tomcot that died last year. The tree was beautifully branched out and again the root system was excellent. The replacement tree was larger than the original and was not a whip like the first tree. I was happily surprised. Maybe I was lucky on all counts, but these nursery's sent me excellent stock.

Glad your new trees are all in good shape.

What happened to your last Tomcot?

I start to be interested in growing an apricot but not sure what variety will do well for New England zone 6 ( or zone 5 if winter is like this past winter).

Mamuang, I lost my first Harglow cot in Hurricane Sandy. Replaced it with a Tomcot that died. Since then, last year I purchased another Harglow and two Tomcots. Fingers crossed! Mrs. G
