Pear Tree Leaf 'Pitting'

Posted by Mhia PA (My Page) on

Hi,

We have a pear tree that doesn't seem to be doing so well. I have had a look around and have not been able to match to a bug or disease as yet.
I have pictures but cannot see how to include them here, so to describe..

Top of leaves show 'pitting' but no discolouration, the underside of leaves show the result of pitting with brown patches on most of the pits. I assume something has laid its eggs in the leaves?

Do any of you know what might be happening? I am so new to gardening I am just not sure where to start out really.

Any help is really appreciated!
Many thanks
