Your "bolter" may be the formation of a new runner. When it arches over and touches the ground, it will root under the rosette of leaves and form a new plant. If you want more plants, leave it.

I tried growing Quinault for two seasons, and they were vigorous growers and spreaders, but produced only small amounts of berries. There are lots of more modern varieties that would be more productive, although everbearers are always going to be shy bearers compared with Junebearers.

Everbearers are supposed to spread the crop over a longer season, but stop in very hot weather like all strawberries, then sometimes resume production in cooler fall weather. If you want lots of strawberries plant something like the Junebearer Honeoye.

since I have my berries in rectangle planters, I decided to cut the bolting runners in hopes of more flowers and berries in my selected locations. thanks of the reply.
