EARTH DAYSee Why Cross-Pollination Is a Plant’s Best Friend
Getting the most from a native plant landscape goes beyond plant selection. You often need compatible partners too
Full StoryI have a slow growing but healthy mail order Pawpaw in the yard that is 8 feet tall after 15 years. Flowers have appeared for the last three years but no fruit since no trees grow in the area. I cut scion wood from a grove planted in a park 12 miles away. Three of the grafts are leafing out now and my fingers are crossed. Am I correct in believing this tree will pollinate itself after the new wood starts to flower?
