Here's a picture of a one year old Sweetcrisp. The plant is vigorous and leafs out well in spring. I'll pot this one up, prune heavily after harvest, and regrow lots of new shoots to fruit next year.

Thanks for the update, fruitnut. Your sweet Crisp is really big, my gosh. I might try to pick up a couple of Sweet Crisps myself, and put them down with my stone fruits in the lower yard. I've got Jubilee, Southmoon, Misty, O'Neal and Sunshine growing in pots up on the top part of the yard. They're doing really well, which sort of surprised me. I guess I expected them not to. Not sure why as I did all the right things for them. I think the key was really getting the soil acidic, and using my pH meter to make absolutely sure they started out at the right pH. Have a couple of extra pots, so might as well plop in a couple more blueberries! I'll let you know how mine all fair. I will only have a few blueberries this year no doubt, but hoping next year will be a very nice crop. I have to wrap all my pots in hardware cloth, to keep the rats out. And then cover with bird netting to keep the birds out!
