One half a cherry tree just dies rather suddenly.

A cherry tree, - we think, came with the property so we are not sure - perhaps five inches in diameter forks at about waist high with two branches going up perhaps ten feet.

It produced buds, then leaves, the one branch suddenly dies. No blossoms. All the leaves, all of them, at one time, curled up within a few days and are now beginning to turn color and fall off. Visual inspections of the leaves and bark tell me nothing.

Looks like a herbicide except access to spray just this one half would be quite difficult.

What do I look at next?
