Tempting Europe with Ugly Fruit

Interesting article (see link below). The summary is they are trying to sell the less than perfect fruits. I hope some of this makes it across the ocean.

It would seem the consumer here has done the same thing on their own. I find myself picky when buying produce at a store, but from my garden I just cut away or am not as bothered by imperfections. I think people who don't garden are more picky in general.

Not just that, in April-May I cope with a lot of past-their-prime storage apples. We peel and cook tens of pounds of the stuff, mixed with frozen cranberries bought the day after Thanksgiving. And when we buy from the farmer market we always buy seconds.
