No Fruit Set Pomagranate

I have an Angel Red pomagranate that has been blooming profusely for about a month, but is not setting fruit. This is the second year it's in the ground, it's about five feet tall, and looks very healthy.

Any ideas why no fruit?

How big was it when you planted it? 5 gallon size or smaller? I do not have a Angel Red, but my Kashmir, wonderful and sweet took a while to fruit. I would not worry about it yet.

Agreed - wait a few more years. My first pom put on one fruit in its third year, nothing the first two.

I have had the same problem with my 2 Wonderfuls, Sweet, and Garnet Sash pomegranates. One Wonderful has been in the ground 10 years, the other Wonderful and the Sweet are about 5 years old in a slightly warmer location, and the Garnet Sash is about 3. Only the oldest Wonderful has ever borne fruit once, and it was only 2 tennis ball sized ones. All bloom profusely and are in full sun for most of the day. The flowers just never seem to develop, even when I try hand pollinating them.
