Godzilla of Blackberries

My blackberries have been a journey. I started with Arapaho, Apache, and Natchez but recently I added another that I nicknamed Godzilla. I should have known something was up when the 2" plant grew more than my three-year-old Natchez its first year. The second spring it started to grow later that the other plants. Dont let the late start fool you. One of the three plants grew more than my grape vine. No need to worry about the grape smothering out the blackberry. This blackberry can take care of itself. At the end of the season the canes grew over the grape vine. The canes or tree which ever you want to call it measure about 2" in diameter at ground level. Never underestimate the Triple Crown Blackberry (Godzilla of blackberries). It is a beast.

RE: Godzilla of Blackberries

I planted three triple crown plants early this spring. So far they are very slow. I accidentally mowed over one of them by cutting after dark. I hope that mine will take off like yours did.
