Hi, it just looks like 'russeting' (not a disease, it is usually caused by damp, wet weather), but why didn't you thin your apples? After a bit more research, russeting can be caused by powdery mildew. You do not seem to have that. Mrs. G

Yes I just notice powdery mildew on one of the branches thanks Mrs G...I don't thin because of Summer drop...never needed to.

mjmarco,

The leaves of that tree look pretty crowded. If you thin out some of the branches to let light and air penetrate there will be less disease pressure.

Probably the starting of cedar apple rust, post another picture after giving the apple more time for the disease to develop. (if cracking occurs then it might be scab), but I believe CAR starts on the fruit first.

I guess I'm not surprise getting a fungi disease this year...our spring was very cold and the rain was non stop. The yard would not dry out. One of the reason I won't thin the apples...at this point I'll need all the apples small or not. Sprayed at dormant and green tip but must not of not been enough. I used immunox 15 days ago even though things really looked good...to late or to wet. I let you know how the apples turn out.
