It does require a pollinator. I've always heard Yellow Delicious is kind of universally thought of as a pollinator for most other apples too. In fact they make note of that on the Stark Bro's website.

Or maybe even a Crab Apple if you wanted to go that way. They're pretty showy too.

But it needs something that's close within the flowering group that it's in to pollinate.

Have a friend, neighbor, or relative with an apple tree? Consider grafting onto your tree.

This year it was an exceedingly late bloomer, the first year where it came out so much later, I think. Fruit set on it was light, maybe because there wasn't a lot of pollen around from compatible trees.

Usually here there is much more overlap from mid to late bloomers.

Unfortunately, none of my neighbors have apple trees, so I will have to purchase and plant another variety, most probably Fuji since I understand it has a compatible blooming time and should do well in my southeast Texas climate.

You can also use a Jonathan or Gala or Granny Smith apple to Pollinate a Pink Lady apple. I have a small apple orchard in Texas.

ALL apple varieties require a second, different variety as pollinator for best fruit production regardless if they are listed as "self fertile" or not. Pink Lady, aka Cripps Pink, is NOT self fertile!!

FWIW, virtually any apple variety that has a similar or overlapping bloom time will serve as a pollination partner.
