Hey, they've got character! How do they compare to others based on prior experience?

They taste a little better than Blenheim apricot. I was about to harvest the four Sugar Pearls fruits to compare to the Chinese Sweet Pit but the Squirl got them all. I need to set up my havahart trap.

Blenheim is yucky mush in my greenhouse. I think it's better in a mild environment. Sugar Pearls has never even shown a blossom inside or out. It gets one more yr to prove itself. And my newly planted Chinese is on suicide watch. I don't think it's going to survive the spring freeze.

No squirrels here. They'd starve to death. Two straight yrs no fruit and no pecans.

I'm so envious! My Chinese's fruits are still smaller than golf balls. But the whole little tree is enclosed in good netting, so those pesky squirrels can't get to those fruits (which probably won't be ripe until a month from now).
