Buy or Sell a House with Fruit Trees

Does anyone have any experience buying or selling a house that has fruit trees and/or bushes in the landscape?

My guess is that it would be akin to an in-ground pool. That is, some would love it and some would hate the upkeep.

Bought plenty without fruit trees and sold them all with trees. Most liked the orchard and one put in the swimming pool after buying.

The thing about fruit trees is that half a day with a chain saw and they are gone. But of course some would rather have a mature landscape of non fruit types.

I think it would depend on how many and how big they are. 1 big tree or half s dozen trees that are kept in check at 7 feet tall probably would be a big positive but a dozen trees that are all 20 feet tall and it would probably be considered a big negative to most people. Probably not as big of a deal as an unwanted swimming pool, but a problem none the less

Thank you for the thoughts.

Fruitnut: Well said.

Jimmy: All of my trees are young and on semi-dwarf. The plan is to keep them small.

When I first started planting last year, I thought we would be in this house for the long haul. Now I am second guessing.

Even though my plants are young, it would be a pain to start over. I follow the recommendations here religiously (for my initial plantings before experimenting), which means I have to order from about 4-5 different nurseries.

I think I am just trying to reconcile all the work that I put in this far. My yard was not a clean slate where I could just dig a hole and plant. It was overrun with all kinds of creeping plants/weeds that I am still trying to get rid of.
