Santa Rosa Plum Tree not blooming

I planted this tree about 4 years ago. The first year I got 2 plums, the second year about 30. There were absolutely delicious. Then last year it was attacked by japanese beetles and before I could get the traps out, it was too late, it was badly diseased and done for the year. So in the fall, I read about pruning it and per a diagram pruned my tree in the shape of a martini glass, removing every other branch so air could circulate. Come spring, it looked really healthy so I put the trap out and already I have 1/3 bag of beetles. They didn't get to the tree at all, it still looks super healthy, but I don't have any blossoms on it yet. Shouldn't I have some by now? I'm wondering if because of last year's severe beetle attack, the tree will take another year to recover.
