I need help to identify a Blackberry

I have a Blackberry that was given to me last year and the guy didn't know what type it was. Now it has started to bloom and that has narrowed the possibilities because it has pink flowers. It is more erect than the triple crowns that I planted it with. I included a photo, any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, the same blackberry plant can have both pink and white flowers, so that's probably not an identifying attribute. Other attributes to consider: (1) thorny / thornless, (2) erect vs semi-erect (e.g. somewhat trailing), (3) timing of blooms and fruit ripening, (4) formation of the flower cluster, and (5) shape and size of fruit. Let us know what you find out.

It is thornless. I think semi erect as I only have a year of blackberry experience. I was searching on the internet yesterday and pink flowers were linked to Chesters and Black Satin and some wild ones.

Here are some photos of the Black Satin and Chester I have.Chester has a deeper pink flower than the Black Satin, but Chester is less erect. I'm not sure if this will help. Brady Black Satin

Thanks for the photos. I had read that the Chester was dark pink and that they bloomed later. So they are out. Your Black Satin are the right shade but have 5 petals and mine have 7. Plus your petals are rounder. Thanks for the help.

I love this stuff. I went back to the plant and noticed that one floricane had 7 petal flowers and another floricane had 5 petal flowers. This is on the same plant. I am going to consider this a Black Satin. What do you think of your Black Satins?

How would it affect your treatment of the plants if the ID could not be narrowed down until fruit ripened?

If I like it I need to know what it is so I can get some more.

OK, so it affects your future plants. Post pictures of the ripe fruit, comment on flavor, etc., that should still leave time for fall or next spring purchases.

I only have triple crown and this one maybe black satin but I will post about what is going on.
