Kaki Persimmon Graft rejection on a Geneva Red D.V. Intertem

I went out today to check on all the Kaki persimmon new grafts. One of the Kyung Sun Bansi grafted on a large D.V rootstock with the interstem of a Geneva Red D.V has died even though it had 1 foot of vigorous growth. I am going to do an experiment by cutting out the Geneva Red interstem and re-graft the Kyung Sun Bansi on the lower portion of the D.V rootstock. If the graft takes then I will know that the Geneva Red D.V rejected the Kyung Sun Bansi Kaki scion.
