narrow axis apple orchard

I'm trying to grow a small 30 tree narrow axis orchard. Using tall spindle and tall axis methods. My problem is twofold: I have a crazy 8B climate and I can only seem to get M26 rootstock trees. AND most of these trees are zone 8 only, Yellow Delicious, Jonagold, Gala, etc. So I'm wondering if M26 can be trained to either narrow method successfully and how far apart to plant. ALSO, I am really pondering the spur-type versus tip trees. I can't seem to get straight answers on which varietals are which and whether one or the other is best for narrow axis planting. Currently I have Anna, Dorset, Gala, Jonagold, Stark Yellow and some new ones on the way. So any help with spacing, pruning and selection would help! thanks
