Hi all, anyone growing this pear tree. It is so interesting looking. Are there other 'elongated' pears? I am having a difficult time finding them. How do they taste? Do they take forever to fruit? Many thanks, Mrs. G

Theres Abbe Fetel. It tastes a bit milder than Bartlett, otherwise its similar. I haven't grown it myself so I don't know much about it. Concorde is a newer pear that I don't know much about. Scott

Thanks Scott. I found Abbe Fetel and I think the two pears are related. I will order a Abbe Fetel this winter. It is a beautiful pear. I am looking for an elongated French or Italian heirloom pear. Thanks! Mrs. G

Don't know much about growing this tree, but it is my favorite pear, tastes similar to bosc but with a vanilla flavor as well, eat them while they are still firm otherwise it is like eating sweet sand.

Thanks Captain, firm sounds much better than 'sweet sand'. I think the pear is worth a try. I will be looking for a three year old, if I can find one. Thanks again, Mrs. G
