Bought a grape labeled as "kay gray". By removing the tag I found a sticker that says "himrod". The plant doesnt resemble himrod to me, but when I contacted the nursery they said the odds are that the plant is what the sticker said. Himrod leaves are more lobed to my knowledge....

It looks healthy. What does it matter? Here is a link to the national grape registry. You can spend the hours there that most of us don't have the time to do. Good luck! Accept the conditions, and enter a world you never knew existed!

It matters because humrod isnt hardy here without work, kay gray should be almost bullet proof. Totally different pruning and training methods here too for either or

Here is a himrod leaf just emerging. It is a little early to tell differences I leaf shapes but here it is:) The himrod leafs are glossy top and bottom , and the kaygray leafs are dull and underside have a kind of fuzzy bloom. If it is himrod you will have to lay it down in the fall.If I don't lay mine down and cover it either dies to the ground or just below snowline(if it snows early enough before it get really cold).

Well the 1st thing I thought when I saw it was of wild muscadine grapes in the southeast US. I'd be inclined to believe it is a Kay Grape if that's what the label says, they are mostly right. The leaf becomes less shiny as they age.
