Propagating a white sand cherry mutation

One of my sand cherry trees has produced a branch which is apparently a sport which produces white cherries (yes, the fruit is pure white instead of red). I feel that this mutation is worth preserving and I would like to clone shoots from this branch since I doubt that the seeds would produce a similar fruit. How do I go about this most effectively?

Prunus x cistena or Prunus besseyi,.. I grow besseyi and I think these layer pretty good, have a branch low to the ground, I usually brake it a little and weigh it down into dirt with a rock, a little more dirt around the rock.

RE: Propagating a white sand cherry mutation

Thanks for the info Konrad...I had completely overlooked layering (I think AIR-LAYERING might be the way to go in this instance since the bush is too high off the ground to simply layer as you suggested.) I was focused more on taking cuttings, but doubt that the success rate would be that great this late in the season. I DID do some checking around the base of the bush and discovered that the white cherries are on a separate bush which is part of a clump of volunteer bushes that no doubt arose from bird droppings. Since the entire bush derived from an individual seed rather than a sport of a normal tree, I am wondering if the likelihood of any of the seeds producing white fruit too is any greater in this case. I will pursue the cloning route as more likely to be successful, in addition to experimenting with the seeds.
