Those 2 branches on the lower part the tree look like a native persimmon rootstock. Their leaves had some reddish color.

Agree that is from the native rootstock , not the grafted Kaki

t a time. Should have gone to photobucket and the place the address for all of the photos in the thread.

This photo is the sucker I want you to view and tell me if it is rootstock or the grafted one

Now this photo showed the Kaki leaves. I would rub off all the shoots below the Kaki shoot and pulled out all of the native root suckers on the ground near the tree because you want all the energy to go to your Kaki graft.
