lambert cherry tree

I have a 50 year old Lambert Cherry Tree. The tree looks like it is dying, the trunk looks like hell. It still attempts to produce fruit but the leaves and the cherrys appear to have something attacking them. Can anyone take a look at the photo or guess to what may be the problem.

I did look to see what the life is for a sweet cherry tree is, the internet site stated about 30 years, so I cant really figure out if old age is the problem or a bug.

What are your thoughts?

From that distance and back-lighting, it just looks like a tree that was severely pruned a few years ago and has spindly new growth.

Has it produced much fruit since the pruning?

Need closeups of leaf and fruit for bug advice.

I attached this photo with the original post, here it is again.
The tree attempts to produce cherrys but they are very small, listless, and often just fall off the tree. The leaves look severely eaten by bugs, the whole tree is as shown in the photo.
