Meader persimmon grafted?

I have an established Meader persimmon that sends up many suckers within a 20 foot radius. One five year old sucker flowered this year and none of the fruit developed. The parent plant self-pollinates and always has a heavy fruit load. The foliage of the sucker is smaller than the parent as well. Does anyone know the identity of the Meader root stock?

RE: Meader persimmon grafted?

The meader was grafted on a native American persimmon rootstock. With the small leaf probably a 60 chromosomes type from my guess. You can bark graft a bunch of different varieties to those rootstocks.
